It's Spring and with that comes pessimism!

Are you ready to be disappointed, again?

Neil Huntington Interview: Blah blah, wah wah wah… Wah wah, blah blah blah

I thought only Charlie Brown’s teacher could speak that way.  Talk about the art of doublespeak!  Listened to a pre-game discussion on the Neil Huntington show where he shed ZERO light on any intentions as we are now just 1 day before the trade deadline.  Neil enlightened that “There are some deals that can help now but hurt down the road.  (Like when we acquired Happ but did not retain him down the road)  And there are some deals that can hurt now but help down the road.  Then there are deals that can hurt now and also hurt down the road.  (Was that the Neil Walker one?)  Then there are also deals that can help now and help down the road.

If you missed the interview today you now know as much as I do.  NOTHING!

22 hours and counting…Oh, and the Cubs just won too (Bucs 6.0 games out at this minute)

    David Smathers says:

And, St. Louis also just won today.

    Rico Sanchez says:

Cole must be nervous as hell with Moroff, Stewart and that new guy Lowblow all in the lineup. He may have to throw a shutout.

    Boxing Jimmy says:

And Frazier must really be scratching his head. He went 2 for 4 yesterday and is hitting .420 in July yet rides the bench while he watches Moron and Loopie.

Hurdle would say, “But we need Frazier’s bat off the bench.” Ya, how about giving the guy 4 at bats if he is so hot now and we might not need him off the bench later. I’m with Tommy. FIRE HURDLE!

    Zuki says:

Haven’t heard from Gunner, Tebow, or that Teke guy lately. And that newspaper guy sounds too busy to grace us with his thoughts anymore.

    Stush in Polish Hill says:

See how long it took Moroff to come in for Harrison. They were yelling down the tunnel to find him but he was at a concession stand getting coffee for Hurdle.

    Cubs Rule says:

I’ll stick with Jed Hoyer as our General Manager. The Pirates can have Neil Huntingdumb.

    Boxing Jimmy says:

Bucs broke out for 11 hits this afternoon. All in the starting lineup had one hit or more including Cole EXCEPT:
Stewart, LowBlow, and Moroff-thanon. They went a combined 0 for 10.

Their updated averages are Stew: 197, Moroffthanon: 131, Lowblow: 000

Moroff did have a nice catch though. And Stewart and LowBlow only hit into 3 double plays combined. Oh, and LowBlow hit a nice foul ball early in the game.

    Dave from Ambridge says:

How is it possible that this madness continues? Maybe over-manager Hurdle has literally gone crazy. Consider that. I’m very serious.

At some point the scotch had to catch up with him. There is no rational explanation for his decision making and over-managing. I’m going to explore this possibility.

Meanwhile, let’s not follow Hurdle to the looney bin with any thoughts of a comeback. Sell, sell, sell.

    Boxing Jimmy says:

Maybe Huntington was giving a hint at a trade yesterday. He said Blah and Wah…and we end up with Benoit from Philly. (pronounced Ben-wah)

For the record, he is 40 years old and 1-4 record. Oh, and did I mention that even Philly didn’t want him? Philly so set on getting rid of him that they are picking up a portion of his salary.

(More to come on a later posting once all of the pundits in sports have chimed in)
